Rémi Geniet

The French pianist, Rémi Geniet, studied with the great pianist Brigitte Engerer (one of her last students) at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris and with Rena Shereshevskaya at the the Ecole Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot de Paris. He is now under the guidance of Professor Evgeni Koroliov in Hamburg. He also studied chamber music with Pierre-Laurent Aimard, orchestral conducting with George Pehlivanian and Renaissance polyphony with Olivier Trachier. He attended master-classes with Vera Gornostaeva, Tatyana Pikayzen, François-René Duchâble and Giovanni Bellucci. He is at the present time the youngest prize winner of the Bonn International Beethoven competition, (3rd prize during the 2011 edition). In 2011 he also won the 1st prize at the Prix du Piano Interlaken Classics in Bern and is a prize-winner for many other competitions, among which the International Horowitz Competition in Kiev, with the Special Vladimir Horowitz Interpretation Prize.At the age of 20, he was awarded the second prize of the Queen Elisabeth 2013 International Piano Competition in Belgium.

Rémi Geniet has performed with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, National Orchestra of Belgium, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Beethoven Orchester Bonn, Orchestre National d'Ile de France, Orchestre de Cannes Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur, with conductors Emmanuel Krivine, Edo de Waart, Alan Buribayev, Robert Trevino, Eduard Topchjan, Volodymyr Sirenko, Michael Hofstetter, Marin Alsop, Philippe Bender, Stephan Blunier, Adrian Leaper and Pavel Gerstein.

Rémi Geniet has participated in many festivals in France and abroad: Vladimir Spivakov Festival in Colmar, Saint-Petersburg Arts Square International Winter Festival, Les Pianos Folies du Touquet, Pianoscope, Piano en Valois, Lisztomanias, Festival Bach de Toul, Moments musicaux de la Baule, Euriade Festival in the Netherlands, Interlaken Classics Festival in Switzerland, Juillet Musical d'Aulne and Eté Mosan in Belgium, Le Festival Bach de Montréal. He has been invited at the Salon Musicora 2012, in Paris at the Louvre auditorium, and also gave recitals in Vienna, Geneva, Ghent, Brussels, in Germany and in Poland.

During the season 2013-2014, Rémi Geniet made his debuts at Carnegie Hall (Zankel Hall), and appeared with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Ural Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo. He was heard at la Folle Journée de Nantes, la Roque d'Anthéron, the Radio France Festival, and the Folle Journée du Japon. Rémi also performs regularly with cellist Henri Demarquette.
